Lead Software Engineer, FundsCore (Payments)

Location: 5-day onsite at hirify.global One-North office in Singapore

What you will do

• Own the design and delivery of mission-critical payment systems with high availability, low latency, and strict correctness.
• Define payment architecture, domains, APIs, event contracts, data models, and versioning standards.
• Build resilient integrations with card networks, banks, alternative payment methods, and real-time payment rails.
• Lead reliability, observability, security, compliance, scalability, disaster recovery, chaos testing, and incident response initiatives.
• Drive regionalization across currencies, localization, regulations, and payment scheme requirements.
• Lead architecture reviews, critical-path implementation, engineering standards, mentorship, and complex multi-quarter delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in senior or lead roles.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, Go, or Python, with strong coding and testing discipline.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, SQL/NoSQL, financial data modeling, consistency, reconciliation, and idempotency.
• Hands-on payments experience covering authorization, capture, settlement, reconciliation, ledgers, payouts, refunds, disputes, and orchestration.
• Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps/SRE practices, security and compliance standards including PCI DSS, KYC/AML, encryption, CI/CD, IaC, observability, incident response, and SLOs; advanced use of AI coding tools is required.
