Senior Software Engineer Fullstack

Location: On-site in Ottawa or Toronto; Ottawa is preferred. Eligibility for a Canadian security clearance is required.

What you will do

• Build backend services and APIs for telemetry ingestion, normalization, mission data processing, and low-latency access.
• Design SQL and NoSQL data models, query patterns, and archival strategies for high-volume data.
• Develop operator-facing real-time dashboards that visualize high-rate telemetry and system state under field conditions.
• Integrate sensors, embedded systems, and edge compute nodes with fault-tolerant behavior on unreliable, bandwidth-constrained links.
• Set up automated testing, CI/CD, and observability through logs, metrics, and traces.
• Shape architecture, review designs and code, collaborate with hardware and embedded teams, and support field deployments and rapid iterations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend and frontend systems.
• Strong production experience with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building real-time, data-dense interfaces for telemetry and system-state visualization.
• Strong SQL and relational modeling skills, with practical knowledge of storage and query design under latency and volume constraints.
• Hands-on experience integrating hardware or working with embedded teams, including sensor data and constrained-bandwidth systems.
• Eligibility for a Canadian security clearance is required; Canadian citizenship is an asset.
