Senior Engineer (Python/TypeScript)

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada; hybrid

What you will do

• Participate in the full application lifecycle, developing features and delivering value to users.
• Develop, test, integrate, and deploy backend, frontend, and API stacks.
• Maintain high availability for external and internal web services.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, QA, and Product Owners to shape new features.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience building and shipping scalable web applications.
• Strong experience with Python and TypeScript in a web context.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud services with AWS.
• Experience deploying containerized applications with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, ETL systems, test-driven development, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.

Nice to have

• Experience with Django, FastAPI, pandas, SQLAlchemy, dbt, React, Material UI, Argo, Kubernetes, or Linux.
• Interest in remote sensing systems and space.
