General Ledger Accounting Manager

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; in-office four days per week and one day working from a location of choice

Annual base salary: $100,000–$200,000

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end month-end close, including reconciliations, reporting, and related deliverables.
• Prepare monthly flux analysis for balance sheet and income statement accounts and explain variances.
• Oversee annual state and local registrations across jurisdictions.
• Support year-end audits and annual tax return preparation while serving as a contact for auditors and tax advisors.
• Contribute to revenue recognition, lease accounting, and other technical accounting projects.
• Lead process improvements, financial system enhancements, special projects, and cross-training across the accounting team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and FASB financial reporting principles.
• Experience with NetSuite or an equivalent ERP system and strong Excel skills.
• SOX-compliant mindset with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and workload-management skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accurate workpapers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; genuine interest in applying AI tools to accounting workflows.

Nice to have

• CPA license.
• Experience at a growing SaaS or technology company.
• Familiarity with Airbase and Carta.
