Field Technician (CA)

Location: Primarily Chowchilla, California, United States; requires out-of-state travel for 2–3 months at a time during peak seasons

Salary: $26–$28 per hour, dependent on experience

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, and assemble hive systems and related field equipment.
• Install, deploy, and commission systems in orchards, fields, bee pastures, and other agricultural environments.
• Apply approved Engineering Change Orders and implement field modifications and upgrades.
• Use technician applications and ticketing systems to receive assignments, document work, and report completion.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical adjustments and component replacements.
• Collaborate with field and engineering teams while maintaining safe, clean, and reliable equipment.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Field Technician, Installer, Maintenance Technician, or in a similar hands-on role.
• Practical experience with mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical repair and maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to follow structured maintenance and repair procedures.
• Comfort using mobile applications, ticketing systems, and reporting tools; able to work independently.
• Comfort working outdoors for extended periods, around bees, and in varying agricultural conditions.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience installing, maintaining, or servicing automated or electromechanical equipment.
• Experience with agricultural equipment, machinery, or field operations.
• Familiarity with beekeeping environments.
• Experience in a fast-paced field service or operations organization.
