Practice Manager

Location: New York City, United States; on-site. Full-time, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend or evening duties, one weekend day per quarter, and on-call responsibility one weekend per month.

Salary: $70,000–$95,000 per year, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing practice team while fostering safety, inclusion, collaboration, and strong member experience.
• Run practice meetings, communicate operational updates, implement new initiatives, and ensure workflows and standards are followed.
• Manage payroll, time and attendance, hiring, onboarding, employee engagement, and performance development.
• Oversee practice P&L, budgets, revenue performance, KPI dashboards, business plans, and profitability across labor, inventory, and cost of goods.
• Optimize appointment, surgery, specialist, nursing, and member experience schedules to improve utilization and maintain adequate coverage.
• Resolve escalated member concerns, monitor NPS and online feedback, manage inventory and ordering, and maintain consistent facility and brand standards.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a veterinary or human healthcare practice.
• At least 2 years of direct team management experience, including coaching performance and leading through change.
• Strong business acumen, organization, prioritization, and customer-service orientation.
• Ability to understand P&Ls, use data for business insights, and manage budgets and operational metrics.
• Comfort with Excel, Google Suite, technology platforms, and learning new software quickly.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs occasionally and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience in hospitality or a fast-paced startup.
• Experience reading, understanding, and managing P&Ls.
