Director of Planning & Fulfillment (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. The role supports candidates seeking to work in US offices and may involve production-area exposure.

Base pay range: $170,000–$215,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end, multi-site material planning and fulfillment across launch vehicle and spacecraft production programs.
• Set material readiness targets covering line of balance, clear-to-build status, and on-time kitting.
• Partner with Procurement to align supplier lead times, purchase planning, and material flow with production demand.
• Translate engineering change orders and program schedule changes into actionable supply and fulfillment plans.
• Own material shortage management, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
• Build executive-level material health dashboards and drive ERP and planning process improvements.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive supply chain experience in a leadership role owning material planning, production planning, or fulfillment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 16+ years of total work experience.
• Hands-on expertise in MRP/ERP systems, demand and supply planning, order policy, BOM management, and fulfillment execution.
• Experience building and scaling planning teams in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
• Strong cross-functional influence across engineering, production, procurement, and finance.
• For US office candidates, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required, including US citizenship, lawful permanent residency, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated, high-consequence manufacturing industries.
• Experience with multi-site or globally distributed planning, international freight, and customs coordination.
• Exposure to AI-enabled supply chain tools, digital transformation, or ERP implementation and optimization.
• APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with line of balance, manufacturing readiness level, or similar production readiness frameworks.
