Embedded Software Engineer (Networking)

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop embedded networking products across multiple hardware platforms, including chipset bring-up, SDK integration, and application development.
• Implement hardware-dependent functions with hardware teams and resolve integration challenges.
• Develop and optimize real-time C/C++ firmware for performance, memory efficiency, and power usage.
• Create software architecture, design specifications, release documentation, user manuals, and change logs.
• Conduct code reviews, unit, integration, and system testing in collaboration with QA.
• Support production readiness, certifications, manufacturing tools, customer issue investigation, and firmware updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong C/C++, scripting, debugging, and software design skills.
• Experience with RTOS or Linux, real-time systems, network protocols such as DHCP, IPv4, and IPv6, and interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, and GPIO.
• Proficiency with GDB, Wireshark, terminal applications, version control, unit testing, and continuous integration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience developing access points, routers, or switches.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-A53/A73 or similar platforms and Wi-Fi chipset bring-up.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
