TL;DR
Manager, Site EHS (Chemical Manufacturing): Leading environmental health and safety programs for a chemical manufacturing and R&D site with an accent on regulatory compliance, incident prevention, and sustainable EHS management. Focus on managing process safety, audits, emergency response, ISO 14001/45001 systems, and corrective actions across site operations.

Location: Austin/Burnet, Texas, United States. Open to relocation. Immigration-related sponsorship is not provided; candidates must not require sponsorship now or in the future.

What you will do

  • Lead all environmental health and safety activities for the Burnet site and develop a sustainable, proactive EHS culture.
  • Implement site-wide programs covering process safety, employee training, incident investigation, audits, inspections, and performance evaluation.
  • Identify EHS hazards and liabilities, define corrective and preventive actions, and manage issue resolution.
  • Support Management of Change, project and facility design reviews, and the acquisition of environmental permits, licenses, and authorizations.
  • Coordinate communications with regulatory and emergency agencies and prepare required investigation and performance reports.
  • Manage site EHS personnel, the Emergency Response Team, and Safety, Ergonomic and Environmental Committee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in occupational safety and health, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, or another related technical discipline.
  • At least seven years of EHS leadership experience; ten or more years preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in dynamic production and R&D environments developing and manufacturing chemical products.
  • Experience with OSHA, US EPA, state-level requirements, local ordinances, and federal and state safety regulations.
  • Strong skills in cross-functional leadership, personnel development, communication, technical report analysis, and regulatory interpretation.
  • Ability to manage consultants and employees while influencing site leadership and frontline teams.

Nice to have

  • CSP, CIH, CHMM, or a similar professional credential.
