Cryogenic Systems Engineer

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom; Workplace: On-site

Salary: £50,000–£70,000 per year, dependent on skills and experience

What you will do

• Take technical ownership of cryogenic systems and supporting infrastructure.
• Define requirements and specifications for new cryogenic equipment.
• Support supplier selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Lead operational readiness activities and drive delivery of cryogenic projects.
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot systems ranging from laboratory cryocoolers to large cryoplants.
• Collaborate with engineering and scientific teams on superconducting magnet technology.

Requirements

• Experience designing, operating, or maintaining cryogenic systems.
• Experience owning projects and providing technical leadership.
• Knowledge of cryocoolers, helium systems, LN2 systems, or cryoplant infrastructure.
• Experience with scientific or advanced engineering equipment.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
