Senior Manager, Tax and Filings (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, United States

Salary: $165,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead and manage a distributed filings team of approximately 50 people, including offshore contractors.
• Provide performance management, mentorship, and support to maintain high-quality work and accountability.
• Design, implement, and refine scalable workflows across filings, customer support, and client teams.
• Maximize automation and reduce repetitive operational tasks.
• Investigate accounting and filing discrepancies and research new regulatory requirements.
• Partner with leadership, operations, product, and engineering to identify risks and develop operational solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of demonstrated expertise in U.S. tax filings; international experience is a plus.
• Experience managing distributed teams, including performance management and process implementation.
• Experience building scalable processes in a startup, high-growth environment, or consulting firm.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting systems, tools, or platforms used in finance and filings.
• Strong analytical, Excel, data, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset and comfort working in an ambiguous, rapidly scaling environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in e-commerce, SaaS, or fintech.
• International tax experience.
