TL;DR
Financial Aid Training & Development Specialist (Higher Education Compliance): Designing and delivering onboarding, continuing education, and system-readiness training for financial aid staff with an accent on Title IV regulations, operational workflows, and documentation. Focus on translating complex federal requirements into practical guidance, incorporating quality review findings, and maintaining readiness for system changes and regulatory audits.

Location: Remote within the United States; hirify.global locations include Atlanta, Austin, and NYC. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring new H-1B sponsorship; H-1B transfers and TN visa sponsorship for eligible Canadian and Mexican citizens are supported.

Salary: $47,000–$64,000 annual base salary for candidates based in Atlanta; remote salaries are localized. The compensation package also includes equity.

What you will do

  • Design, deliver, and maintain onboarding and continuing education for Financial Aid staff.
  • Develop training for financial aid technologies, system enhancements, workflow automation, and operational changes involving SIS, COD, NSLDS, FAFSA Partner Portal, hirify.globalwire, and related systems.
  • Create and maintain training manuals, SOPs, job aids, reference guides, and knowledge-management resources with appropriate version control.
  • Partner with Financial Aid Operations, Compliance, and Quality Assurance to align training with workflows, regulations, quality findings, and institutional policies.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and incorporate applicable changes into training and documentation.
  • Support audit, program review, monitoring, and external regulatory readiness through current staff guidance and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, higher education administration, business, communications, organizational development, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least three years of experience administering Title IV financial aid and applying federal regulations in higher education.
  • Experience developing and delivering training for adult learners, including onboarding and ongoing staff development.
  • Ability to translate complex regulations and operational processes into clear, practical guidance, with strong presentation, facilitation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience creating virtual instructor-led training materials, job aids, process documentation, and knowledge resources.
  • Familiarity with SIS platforms, COD, NSLDS, FAFSA Partner Portal, or other financial aid systems; current NASFAA FAAC certification or ability to obtain it within the first year.

  • Experience training staff during system implementations or operational change.
  • Experience using quality assurance findings, audit results, or operational trends to shape training.
