Thermal Engineer (Cryogenic Systems)

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom; Workplace: On-site

Salary: £50,000–£70,000 per year, depending on skills and experience

What you will do

• Develop thermal models using analytical methods, 1D modelling, FEA, and CFD.
• Analyse heat transfer and thermal behaviour in cryogenic systems.
• Use modelling results to define system specifications and guide design decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex projects.
• Develop in-house modelling tools and methodologies.
• Contribute to technical reviews, risk assessments, safety activities, and technical leadership.

Requirements

• Industrial experience in thermal modelling and analysis.
• Expertise in FEA and/or CFD.
• Knowledge of heat transfer and thermal system design.
• Experience with ANSYS, COMSOL, MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
• Ability to work independently on complex projects.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
