Critical Environments Operator IV

Location: Durham, North Carolina, United States; onsite. Work schedule: 2:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m., three days on and two days off, with extended onsite hours during emergencies.

What you will do

• Complete assigned operations and maintenance work across data center and other assigned facility spaces.
• Track maintenance work, labor hours, preventive maintenance orders, and reactive work tickets in the CMMS.
• Use SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and MMRs to perform safe site operations and maintenance.
• Respond to building system alarms, prioritize preservation of the critical load, stabilize operations, and support root cause analysis.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors, including safe work areas, critical switching, and lockout/tagout activities.
• Maintain workmanship, safety, environmental, regulatory, and client requirements in a 24/7/365 environment.

Requirements

• Journeyman-level electrical, mechanical, and HVAC/R skills gained through technical facility maintenance experience, training, or an associate degree.
• Data center experience, including 7–10 years in Tier 2, Tier 3, or Tier 4 data centers or comparable operations and maintenance or building engineering roles.
• Knowledge of work order control procedures and computerized maintenance management systems.
• Experience managing subcontractors and vendors, key performance indicators, capacity planning, and reporting.
• Ability to use hand tools, test equipment, computers, Microsoft Word, and Excel; troubleshoot equipment alarms and system interfaces.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, customer service, and workload-management skills; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
