Senior ALD Engineer (Ferroelectric Memory)

Location: Grenoble, France; onsite, full-time, permanent employment. International travel may be required.

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, and maintain dielectric HZO and related-materials processes, as well as metal ALD processes, for advanced memory applications.
• Improve process flows, film stacks, and integration schemes; define and execute experimental plans aligned with project roadmaps.
• Organize and evaluate electrical, structural, and materials characterization, analyze experimental data, and integrate results into databases and knowledge-management systems.
• Own processes on a 300 mm ALD cluster, maintaining process stability, contamination control, operational excellence, consumables, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate tool interventions, hardware upgrades, qualifications, and maintenance with fab engineers and operational teams.
• Collaborate with process integration, stack and technology development teams, research institutes, suppliers, and manufacturing partners on technology transfer, qualification, ramp-up, and intellectual property development.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of relevant industry experience, or 4+ years with a PhD.
• Solid semiconductor process-development and manufacturing background.
• Proven experience as a tool owner or unit process owner in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience with metal ALD and HfO₂/ZrO₂ deposition processes.
• Experience fabricating high-aspect-ratio capacitor structures.
• Practical experience with electrical characterization, data analysis, and statistical evaluation using JMP, Python, or comparable tools.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong organization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, troubleshooting, self-management, and independent-working skills; willingness to work hands-on and collaborate in international cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with ferroelectric hafnium oxide technologies.
• Experience with electrical or structural characterization of ferroelectric materials and devices.
• Additional French and/or Mandarin language skills.
