Principal Mobile Engineer (iOS)

Location: Los Angeles, California; structured hybrid with at least three days per week in the office. Candidates must currently reside in Los Angeles, CA.

Salary: $149,000–$214,300 per year

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and development of native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Provide technical direction for Android development and promote consistency across iOS and Android.
• Implement on-device and cloud-based ML capabilities, including personalization, intelligent automation, and predictive insights.
• Define mobile engineering standards, reusable components, security practices, and scalable architecture.
• Improve mobile CI/CD pipelines, crash analytics, performance monitoring, Datadog dashboards, and application alerts.
• Partner with Product, Design, Backend, Data, AI, and QA teams while mentoring mobile engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of mobile development experience, including 3+ years in an iOS-focused technical leadership role.
• Expert proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, Combine, and UIKit; working knowledge of Kotlin and Android architecture components.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Fastlane, Firebase, Xcode, Android Studio, App Store, Google Play, TestFlight, and internal testing tracks.
• Experience with cloud-connected mobile architecture on Azure or AWS, RESTful APIs, OAuth2, mobile security, and accessibility standards including WCAG and ARIA.
• Experience with automated and unit testing, TDD, CI/CD, mobile analytics, crash reporting, user behavior tracking, and Datadog monitoring.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship and must meet the Los Angeles location requirement.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech or consumer-facing mobile platforms.
• Familiarity with mobile payments, identity verification, and push notification systems.
• Contributions to open-source mobile libraries or technical publications.
