Corporate Development Manager

Location: Torrance, California, United States. ITAR requirements apply: candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Salary: $118,700–$166,600 USD starting pay range for California

What you will do

• Lead early-stage M&A sourcing, screening, and strategic evaluation across defense technology and supplier markets.
• Build business cases, valuation analyses, and financial models incorporating strategic rationale, market insights, and financial impact.
• Coordinate cross-functional due diligence with Finance, Legal, Engineering, and Product teams, and support post-transaction integration readiness.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive actions, customer needs, and defense budget dynamics to identify opportunities and risks.
• Develop relationships with defense primes, emerging technology companies, venture capital firms, investment banks, and consultancies.
• Prepare executive and Board materials, including market reports, M&A pipeline reviews, strategic updates, and deal recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business, economics, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 3+ years with a master’s degree in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, strategy, or equivalent roles.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities, including the ability to explain business value drivers and strategic rationale.
• Ability to evaluate complex opportunities, synthesize market and competitive signals, and produce data-driven recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear reports, presentations, and recommendations.
• Proactive, self-directed, and effective in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in strategy, corporate development, investment banking, equity research, management consulting, or investor relations.
• Understanding of aerospace, defense, national security, and advanced technology markets.
• Experience collaborating across technical, financial, and commercial teams.
