Release Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Remote - EMEA; Germany or Amsterdam

Salary: $60,000–$120,000 annually plus equity

What you will do

• Own weekly releases from branch cut through phased production rollout across release tracks and production clusters.
• Deploy configuration changes, resolve Terraform drift, and maintain cluster maintenance and certificate windows.
• Triage operational issues, investigate customer-reported cluster problems, route incidents, and facilitate Production Ops meetings.
• Keep hirify.global-managed repositories’ master branches green by investigating failures and flaky tests.
• Coordinate incident response, deploy hotfixes, and manage production changes within maintenance windows.
• Improve runbooks, handovers, and operational processes to reduce release and on-call toil.

Requirements

• Experience owning production deployments for distributed or cloud-hosted services.
• Hands-on Terraform experience with AWS, GCP, and other cloud providers.
• Ability to read Bazel, Gradle, Maven, or CMake builds and diagnose build failures.
• Experience operating CI systems, investigating failures, and managing flaky tests.
• Strong Linux and shell skills for log analysis, scripting, and production debugging.
• Strong written English is required for updates, handover summaries, and runbooks.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bazel or the Remote Execution API.
• Programming proficiency in Java, Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Experience with PagerDuty, Linear, or equivalent workflows.
• Platform or DevOps engineering experience at a product-led company.
• Production Kubernetes or container orchestration experience.
