Staff Software Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for infrastructure and platform capabilities supporting AI products.
• Architect and evolve AWS cloud infrastructure across Kubernetes, ECS, Lambda, EC2, and data stores.
• Define infrastructure strategy, standards, roadmaps, and delivery priorities with engineering leadership.
• Improve reliability through SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, incident reviews, monitoring, logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Secure networking, identity, and access patterns while partnering with security and compliance stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and improve developer experience through CI/CD workflows, automation, and internal tooling.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on infrastructure or platform development experience in modern cloud-native environments.
• Deep expertise with AWS and/or GCP, including networking, compute, storage, and managed services.
• Strong proficiency in Python or another infrastructure-focused programming or scripting language.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker, container orchestration, and operating systems at scale.
• Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools and Git-based workflows.
• Strong Linux, networking, debugging, cross-team leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with HIPAA, healthcare, healthtech, or other regulated environments.
• Background in platform or security engineering, including access control, encryption, auditability, and compliance.
• Experience with ML platforms, data teams, observability tools, internal developer platforms, SDKs, or reusable frameworks.
• Experience scaling infrastructure, processes, and teams at a fast-growing startup.
