Maintenance Technician

Location: Melbourne, Australia; operations site in Knoxfield

What you will do

• Perform scheduled preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on new and legacy production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults in automated equipment.
• Assist with the installation, commissioning, modification, start-up, shutdown, and changeover of production equipment.
• Conduct inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments to maintain equipment performance.
• Maintain work orders, maintenance records, and spare-parts inventory in a CMMS.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams on technical issues, process improvements, equipment upgrades, and cost savings.

Requirements

• Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering field.
• 3–5 years of maintenance or service experience with automated production machinery, preferably in FMCG, packaging, plastics, or high-speed manufacturing.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and modern automated systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and service documentation, plus experience using CMMS.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, analytical, research, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Must have full working rights in Australia; a valid driver’s licence is required, and a forklift licence is highly regarded.
