Mechatronics Specialist or Mechanical Engineering Technician

hirify.global is a fusion company developing hardware and infrastructure for commercial stellarator fusion power plants, with teams across Munich, Zurich, and Oxford.

What you will do

• Build and test mechanical and electromechanical prototypes from early-stage designs.
• Carry out rapid prototyping, mechanical assembly trials, and prototype improvements with engineering teams.
• Develop fixtures, test setups, and scalable assembly processes.
• Operate milling machines, lathes, test stands, and other workshop equipment.
• Maintain workshop processes, tools, inventory, calibration, PPE, and incoming goods inspections.
• Keep the lab and workshop clean, structured, efficient, and safe.

Requirements

• Strong practical and hands-on technical skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Technical background through vocational training or a technical college or university degree.
• Experience with machining, wiring, assembly, and test stand technology.
• High standards for quality, precision, safety, and attention to detail.
• Excellent German and English language skills.

Hiring process
