TL;DR
Electrical Engineering Lead (Robotics) (Power Electronics/EtherCAT): Owning the end-to-end electrical architecture for advanced robotic systems, from power and actuation to sensing, compute integration, and harnessing, with an accent on hands-on schematic design, PCB layout, and system bring-up. Focus on EtherCAT-based distributed actuation, high-current power architectures, EMI/EMC mitigation, multi-board fault isolation, and driving hardware through volume manufacturing.

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and scale the electrical engineering team across power electronics, sensing, and electrical design.
  • Own the robot’s end-to-end electrical architecture, including power, actuation, sensing, compute integration, harnessing, and the electrical budget.
  • Set design standards, review schematics and PCB layouts, and make trade-offs across signal integrity, EMI/EMC, thermals, and cost.
  • Partner with mechanical, firmware, and perception teams to translate product requirements into hardware specifications and integrate high-speed sensor stacks.
  • Lead electrical bring-up, fault isolation, and root-cause debugging across board boundaries.
  • Drive DFM/DFA, manufacturing collaboration, second-source components, and production ramp readiness.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, with 8+ years of full-cycle board development from schematic through production for complex robotic, automotive, or electromechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience actively designing, laying out, and debugging hardware.
  • Deep experience with EtherCAT, including topology, distributed-clock synchronization, and PDO mapping.
  • Mastery of power electronics and motor drives or sensor/mixed-signal front-ends, with broad fluency across both domains.
  • Strong knowledge of high-current power architectures, rail partitioning, circuit protection, EMI/EMC, grounding, ESD mitigation, and high-speed serial protocols including SPI, I2C, UART, and PMBus.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, managing risk, and delivering multi-board hardware projects through volume manufacturing.
