Director, Lending Decision Systems (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco or New York, United States; in-office attendance is required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Remote placement will not be considered. Primarily PT, with flexibility across time zones as needed. Relocation is offered based on actual job level.

Salary: $210,000–$245,000 annual base salary, plus potential equity and annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the Decision Systems team responsible for decision infrastructure, data interfaces, and automated lending decisioning.
• Drive strategic transformation programs across Risk Infrastructure in partnership with Credit Risk, Modeling, Business, Engineering, Product, and Marketing.
• Deliver business-as-usual policies and models on the decision infrastructure for the personal loan portfolio.
• Define technology strategy, future-state architecture, and scalability roadmaps for decisioning solutions.
• Apply AI to build next-generation lending platforms, automate processes, and improve productivity.
• Mentor team members, oversee offshore contractors and recruitment, report progress and risks to leadership, and lead regulatory audits.

Requirements

• 10+ years of leadership experience developing team members and managing complex technology programs in fintech or financial services, including 6+ years in people management.
• 10+ years of experience with rules engines such as GDS Link, Provenir, Drools, Alloy, Blaze, or Oscilar.
• Strong technical expertise in APIs, microservices, cloud architectural patterns, and technology strategy.
• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
• Experience solving complex technical problems in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a strategic and execution-focused mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
