Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Networking)

Salary: $150,000–$240,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop embedded networking products across multiple hardware platforms, including chipset bring-up, SDK integration, and application development.
• Define software architecture and system requirements for scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Implement hardware-dependent functions and resolve hardware-software integration challenges with hardware teams.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot networking features to ensure reliable, high-performance connectivity.
• Lead design and code reviews, firmware releases, lifecycle coordination, and QA issue resolution.
• Support production readiness, manufacturing tools, certifications, customer issues, and mentorship of junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded systems design and development.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and assembly, with experience in Linux-based embedded operating systems and device drivers.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, HTTPS, DHCP, IPv4, IPv6, Linux bridge, and network stack internals.
• Hands-on experience developing access points, routers, or switches, plus Git and continuous integration tools.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring engineers, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience with Wi-Fi 6/7 chipsets and Internet Service Provider requirements.
• Expertise across the full embedded networking stack and professional software engineering practices.
