DevOps Engineer (Linux)

Location: Hybrid position based at hirify.global’s HQ in Palo Alto, California, with regular in-person touchpoints and shared office space.

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 annual base salary for the California position; equity, bonuses, and other compensation may also be provided.

What you will do

• Manage infrastructure across private data centers, IT fleets, backend services, machine-learning modules, and React-based applications.
• Build, automate, and scale deployments and infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management practices.
• Operate containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes, including virtual machine cluster management.
• Improve system uptime, availability, performance metrics, monitoring, and operational reliability.
• Work with platform engineers, data scientists, security engineers, product managers, and other DevOps engineers to deliver major infrastructure projects.
• Deploy and operate systems across hirify.global’s data centers and AWS.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional industry experience.
• Strong development experience with Python and Bourne shell.
• Linux administration experience, preferably with Ubuntu package management.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, virtual machine clusters, and release engineering tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
• Experience with network, host, and application security in on-premises and cloud environments, plus network design, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Munin, Prometheus, and Zenoss, and with Apache Airflow orchestration.

Nice to have

• Coding experience with a higher-level language such as Go or Rust.
