DevOps Engineer (Hybrid) (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid in Columbia, Maryland, United States; average of 1–2 days per week in the office. U.S. citizenship and an active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance are required. Onsite frequency and locations may vary based on customer, company, and contract support requirements.

Salary: $115,199–$150,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support the development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS.
• Develop and deploy non-cloud edge infrastructure for on-premise and portable equipment.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes and improve service reliability, scalability, and availability.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems while improving infrastructure tools and processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience with a related bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda, and infrastructure deployment and management.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Linux system administration, and troubleshooting.
• Programming experience with Python, Bash, or Go; familiarity with Git and Flux.
• Experience with application, container, and operating system deployment, scaling, and management.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification such as Security+, or willingness to obtain it within 60 days of hire; U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance are required.

Nice to have

• TS/SCI security clearance.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Experience with K9s, AWS CLI, SNS, SQS, or Diode.
