Fund Accountant (Private Markets)

Location: Primarily onsite in the New York City office; candidates must reside in an approved U.S. state or relocate to one before starting.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Support quarterly NAV close and financial statement processes, including reconciliations, complex private portfolio transactions, waterfalls, carried interest, fees, expenses, and investor performance metrics.
• Coordinate capital calls, distributions, notices, wire execution, fund payments, and expense reporting.
• Support valuation governance under ASC 820 and prepare documentation for valuation committee approval.
• Lead annual audits, including PBC coordination, audit queries, and issuance of audited financial statements.
• Oversee fund tax processes and coordinate with tax providers and fund administrators.
• Design accounting policies and internal controls, automate finance operations, and partner with product, engineering, operations, business, investor relations, and compliance teams.

Requirements

• 2–6 years of progressive fund accounting experience in private equity, fund administration, or alternative investments.
• Knowledge of Limited Partnership Agreements and Private Placement Memoranda, complex entity structures, and report consolidations.
• Experience with client deliverables, team training, risk management, internal controls, and process automation.
• Proficiency with Excel and data analysis; familiarity with process automation tools.
• CPA certification or plans to pursue a CPA.
• Authorization to work for any U.S. employer is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
