Manager, Private Equity/FOF Accounting (Private Equity)

Location: New York City, hybrid

Salary: $78,000–$165,000 annual base salary, plus potential discretionary bonus and/or equity awards.

What you will do

• Manage key private equity fund client relationships and deliver fund accounting and reporting work on schedule.
• Oversee capital calls, distributions, accruals, valuation adjustments, investor allocations, and management fee calculations.
• Review LPAs, offering documents, side letters, and IMAs to apply fund terms accurately.
• Build and maintain distribution waterfall models and review financial statements, schedules, and disclosures.
• Coordinate year-end audits, tax reporting support, and other client deliverables.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate junior staff while coordinating timelines and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience focused on alternative investment funds, private equity, or fund of funds.
• 2+ years of management or supervisory experience, including developing junior professionals and providing performance feedback.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and other comprehensive bases of accounting, with an emphasis on investment partnerships.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, multitasking, and project management skills.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
