Electrical Engineer (Embedded Electronics)

Location: Cologne, Germany; fully site-based. Travel up to 10%.

Salary: €57,000–€79,800 annual base salary.

What you will do

• Own the design and development of complex electronic systems, PCB assemblies, and embedded electronics for regulated products.
• Create system architectures, convert requirements into hardware and firmware specifications, and make key technical decisions.
• Lead multidisciplinary projects from concept through product release in collaboration with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and regulatory teams.
• Plan and execute hardware verification, analyse test results, troubleshoot issues, and confirm performance requirements.
• Lead EMC and electrical safety activities, support certification testing, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and ISO 13485.
• Manage design specifications, verification protocols, risk documentation, test reports, and traceability records; support suppliers and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Several years of experience in electronic hardware development.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, PCB development, EMC/EMI principles, embedded electronics, embedded firmware, and system thinking.
• Excellent proficiency in English and German is required.
