Head of Strategic Finance (Healthtech)

Location: Austin, Texas; hybrid

Base salary: $175,000–$200,000 annually; meaningful equity

What you will do

• Build and maintain long-term financial models covering revenue, headcount, operating expenses, cash, and runway.
• Own monthly and quarterly budget-versus-actuals processes, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting.
• Prepare KPI, financial performance, burn, runway, and business trend reporting for senior leadership and the board.
• Support fundraising through forecasts, financial analysis, diligence materials, data rooms, and investor requests.
• Manage external accounting and tax partners and own an accurate, timely month-end close.
• Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, and People on budgets, headcount planning, business cases, contracts, pricing, and resource allocation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience, starting in investment banking or private equity and followed by strategic finance or FP&A experience at a high-growth company.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, data interpretation, and attention-to-detail skills, including the ability to build models from scratch.
• Experience with strategic finance or FP&A at a startup and with building financial processes from scratch.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership from start to finish, and operate effectively while processes are still being built.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or another high-growth technology company.
• Familiarity with SaaS metrics, unit economics, ARR, retention, gross margin, and customer cohorts.
• Experience supporting fundraising processes.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Ramp, Rippling, or similar tools.
