Community Engagement Liaison - East Region

Location: IAD-01, East Region markets in the United States. Candidates must be based within or willing to travel between East Region markets and spend at least three days per week on in-person engagement with community stakeholders.

Salary: $130,000–$140,000 plus annual bonus

What you will do

• Manage relationships with host communities throughout the data center project lifecycle.
• Engage residents, community organizations, local media, business leaders, NGOs, and public officials.
• Educate communities about data center developments, local benefits, and project progress.
• Develop community engagement strategies with development, energy, government affairs, communications, and operations teams.
• Translate community feedback into actionable insights and advise on risks and opportunities.
• Represent Aligned at community events, public forums, council meetings, hearings, and open houses.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in community relations, public affairs, local government, real estate development, or strategic communications.
• Ability to explain complex engineering, environmental, and technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills, including experience with town halls, zoning boards, and community meetings.
• Active listening skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage sensitive public issues constructively.
• Experience synthesizing external feedback into strategic insights for communications, development, construction, energy, and operations teams.
• History of building alliances with community leaders, neighborhood associations, and business advocacy groups.

• Experience in data centers, energy, or large-scale infrastructure.
