Sales Engineer (Financial Services)

Location: Boston, MA, United States; occasional regional travel is required.

Base salary: $88,000–$128,000 USD per year. Additional discretionary annual variable incentive may apply, with potential sales incentives generally ranging from 10% to 40% of base pay at target achievement.

What you will do

• Coordinate with account representatives, system integrators, project managers, professional services, product management, and support teams to help clients adopt and implement solutions.
• Recommend technical architectures, data models, development patterns, migration strategies, upgrade procedures, and operational best practices.
• Design, build, and present Proofs of Concept, prototypes, and paid pilot projects for prospects and partners.
• Provide technical support during beta programs, pre-launch activities, implementations, and customer training sessions.
• Prepare competitive proposals, solution overviews, sales collateral, product demonstrations, and presentations.
• Capture customer needs and coordinate with product management and development to improve product offerings.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related role within the financial services domain.
• Experience with architecture design, technical documentation, technical qualification calls, RFx processes, and implementation oversight.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming or enterprise application development, relational or non-relational databases, SQL or NoSQL, and data engineering with Python.
• Experience with GenAI, RAG, MCP, machine learning or generative AI use cases, modern analytics architectures, and data lakes, fabrics, or mesh.
• Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, Angular, XML, XSLT, JSON, SOAP, REST, cloud services, containers, Kubernetes, Windows, Unix/Linux, macOS, and API management.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, along with excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
