Senior Corporate Counsel / Associate Director, Compliance

Location: Sunnyvale, California; hybrid work with at least 60% or 24 hours per week on-site. The role may also be associated with hirify.global locations in Durham, North Carolina, and Washington, DC. Occasional domestic travel of 10–15% may be required.

What you will do

• Advise leaders across commercial, medical, clinical, finance, marketing, people, legal, and other corporate functions on healthcare and corporate compliance.
• Evaluate commercial, medical, and operational initiatives, including healthcare professional engagements, grants, sponsorships, research support, promotions, and educational programs.
• Review, draft, and negotiate compliance provisions in commercial agreements and other business arrangements.
• Strengthen and scale the global compliance program, including governance, policies, procedures, guidance documents, and the Code of Conduct.
• Design compliance training and communications and lead cross-functional initiatives that improve accountability and operational effectiveness.
• Lead or support risk assessments, monitoring, audits, investigations, regulatory analysis, and continuous improvement through technology, automation, analytics, and scalable controls.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• At least eight years of legal and compliance experience in healthcare, biotechnology, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or other life sciences organizations.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. healthcare compliance laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, EKRA, and anti-bribery and anti-corruption requirements.
• Experience advising cross-functional teams, developing compliance programs, conducting training, monitoring, auditing, investigations, and enterprise risk assessments.
• Strong analytical, communication, relationship-building, influencing, organizational, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with diagnostics, precision medicine, oncology, or other innovative healthcare businesses.
• International compliance or anti-corruption experience.
• Experience supporting a publicly traded company.
• Experience using technology, data analytics, or AI-enabled solutions in compliance operations.
• CHC, CCEP, or a similar certification.
