Senior Compliance Counsel (Healthcare)

Location: Libertyville, Illinois, US; hybrid work with a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.

Salary: $190,000–$240,000 yearly base pay.

What you will do

• Drive and enhance the compliance strategy in line with evolving regulations, business objectives, and industry practices.
• Monitor and interpret U.S. federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, advise stakeholders, and review contracts, policies, and procedures.
• Develop and implement compliance policies, controls, and preventative measures across the Americas business units.
• Evaluate allegations, conduct internal investigations, support audits and risk assessments, and recommend corrective actions.
• Design and deliver compliance training, prepare metrics and reports for senior leadership and the board, and oversee third-party intermediary due diligence and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Law, Marketing, Sales, Clinical Education, HR, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and other business functions while managing multiple priorities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree and at least 6 years of related experience.
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Ability to communicate effectively by email, phone, and virtual platforms, collaborate across departments, participate in cross-functional initiatives, and serve as a point of contact for stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must work in the office 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• 8–10 years of legal regulatory experience, preferably in the medical device industry and in the U.S.
• 3–5 years of in-house legal experience, preferably with a global healthcare manufacturer.
• License to practice law in good standing under the Illinois Bar or another state bar enabling admission to practice as in-house counsel in Illinois.
