TL;DR
Senior Compliance Counsel (Healthcare): Advising on legal and ethical compliance for regulated healthcare products across the Americas with an accent on healthcare regulations, compliance controls, investigations, and third-party oversight. Focus on interpreting U.S. Anti-Kickback, False Claims, Stark, and Sunshine Act requirements, designing compliance policies and training, and reporting risks to senior leadership and the board.

Location: Libertyville, Illinois, United States; must be in the office 4 days a week

Salary: $190,000–$240,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead and continuously improve the compliance strategy in line with evolving regulations, business objectives, and industry practices.
  • Analyze U.S. federal, state, and local healthcare regulations and advise stakeholders on their impact.
  • Develop, review, and implement compliance policies, procedures, controls, and preventive measures across the Americas.
  • Manage compliance allegations, internal investigations, audits, risk assessments, corrective actions, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Design and deliver compliance training for associates across the Americas.
  • Oversee third-party intermediary due diligence, education, monitoring, reporting, and compliance metrics for senior leadership and the board.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree and at least 6 years of related experience.
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 8–10 years of legal and regulatory experience, preferably in the U.S. medical device industry.
  • 3–5 years of in-house legal experience, preferably with a global healthcare manufacturer.
  • License to practice law in good standing under the Illinois Bar or a state bar enabling admission as in-house counsel in Illinois is preferred.
  • Ability to work in the office 4 days per week in Libertyville, Illinois.
