Salary: $80,000–$170,000 annually

What you will do

  • Prepare and review licensing applications, regulatory reports, amendment requests, and license renewal applications in accordance with NRC requirements.
  • Communicate with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and resolve regulatory inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Develop strategies to obtain and maintain licenses for new and existing nuclear facilities and projects.
  • Conduct technical evaluations against applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including 10 CFR, ANSI, and ASME requirements.
  • Support safety analyses, environmental reports, risk assessments, inspections, audits, and regulatory meetings.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, legal, and environmental teams while maintaining documentation for regulatory reviews.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and ability to perform trade studies and make recommendations using first-principles reasoning.
  • Strong knowledge of NRC regulations, including 10 CFR and related industry standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing clear regulatory documentation.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a fast-paced engineering or highly technical environment.
  • Familiarity with nuclear facility operations and safety analyses.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies such as the NRC.
  • Evidence of exceptional ability through prior projects, a portfolio, or completed products.
