Salary: $180,000–$220,000 USD annually

Company

hirify.global develops scalable, high-temperature nuclear power systems, including advanced reactor technology and fuel fabrication for industrial energy, hydrogen, and next-generation manufacturing.

What you will do

  • Plan and perform high-fidelity CFD and conjugate-heat-transfer analyses in Ansys Fluent for reactor thermal-hydraulics.
  • Model complex flow and heat-transfer problems including core-inlet and lower-plenum mixing, fuel-assembly thermal-hydraulics, hot-channel behavior, passive decay-heat removal, and containment behavior.
  • Establish and document CFD verification and validation practices, including mesh-convergence studies, GCI analysis, and benchmarking against test data.
  • Exchange boundary conditions and analysis outputs with thermal-fluid systems, neutronics, and structural FEA teams to build coupled multiphysics workflows.
  • Lead technical problem definition, independent analysis reviews, technical reviews, and production of traceable calculation packages.
  • Develop CFD standards and templates, support project planning, and mentor junior and mid-level analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 8+ years of professional, production-grade CFD analysis experience.
  • Strong knowledge of turbulence modeling, including RANS, LES/DES, conjugate heat transfer, multiphase flow, and species transport.
  • Experience with ASME V&V 20, GCI studies, validation against test data, and uncertainty quantification.
  • Experience working under regulated quality programs such as ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, or 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, with exposure to NRC or ASME regulatory environments.
  • Experience with Python, CFD automation, HPC workflows, systems-code coupling, structural FEA, and reactor thermal-hydraulics.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of natural circulation, passive cooling, and helium, molten-salt, or liquid-metal coolant behavior.
  • Experience with HTGR, SFR, MSR, or micro-reactor thermal-hydraulics.
  • Experience mentoring and leading technical analysis within an engineering team.

Culture & Benefits

  • Equity ownership in a rapidly growing advanced energy company.
  • Comprehensive medical benefits and unlimited PTO.
  • Free daily lunch and dinner provided onsite.
  • Generous PPE stipend.
  • High-autonomy startup environment with opportunities for career growth and direct collaboration with experienced engineers, operators, and industry leaders.
