SQL Server Database Developer (SQL Server)

Location: Dartford, Kent, UK; hybrid working with approximately three days per week in the office

Salary: £50,000–£55,000 per year, plus a profit-related bonus and benefits package

hirify.global is recruiting for a UK logistics and freight forwarding company providing end-to-end solutions across air, sea, road, rail, warehousing, logistics, customs, and compliance.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, functions, and other database objects.
• Design and maintain relational database structures supporting business applications and integrations.
• Investigate and resolve database, application, and data-related issues in production.
• Improve database performance, reliability, and scalability through tuning and optimization.
• Support database changes across development, testing, and production releases.
• Contribute to system upgrades, integrations, and technology improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, and SQL queries.
• Experience with relational database design, data modeling, and schema development.
• Experience developing in on-premises Microsoft SQL Server environments using SQL Server Management Studio.
• Database development experience focused on core SQL Server development rather than primarily ETL, SSIS, or similar data integration tooling.
• Ability to work in the Dartford office approximately three days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL Server Always On or other high-availability SQL Server environments.
• SQL Server administration experience.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Exposure to logistics or transport industries.
