TL;DR

Software Engineer (Mid): Delivering significant features end-to-end across internal systems including data, security, and licensing with an accent on C#/.NET development and distributed systems architecture. Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Cambridge, UK (Hybrid: in-office once every two weeks).

Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE.

What you will do

• Deliver significant features end-to-end across core business systems including identity, authentication, and purchasing.
• Collaborate within a cross-functional team to maintain platform health, resilience, and scalability.
• Take ownership of production issues from investigation through to resolution and prevention.
• Influence architectural decisions and contribute to the design of shared platform services.
• Apply modern engineering practices including unit testing, code review, and safe change management.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to Cambridge, UK for hybrid work.
• Solid experience with modern C#/.NET and SQL.
• Confidence applying design principles, architectural patterns, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of distributed systems, operational risk, and partial failures.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical findings and trade-offs.
