Senior Backend Engineer (Data Platform)

hirify.global is building an AI-native enterprise GRC platform that continuously collects and structures data from organizational systems to support risk management, compliance, and audits.

What you will do

• Design and build core data-platform systems covering ingestion, processing, and serving.
• Own data-pipeline architecture across multiple systems and environments.
• Build backend services integrating operational and analytical data stores.
• Make decisions on data modeling, storage formats, and system boundaries.
• Improve system reliability, performance, scalability, and data correctness.
• Collaborate with product and R&D teams, participate in design discussions, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building backend systems in production.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python or a similar language.
• Experience designing end-to-end data pipelines, including ingestion, processing, and serving.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and transactional versus analytical systems.
• Experience with lakehouse and data warehouse technologies, including Iceberg, Athena, Delta Lake, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Experience with Postgres, a NoSQL system, distributed processing tools, workflow orchestration, cloud environments, and system design at scale.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-cloud or cross-environment data systems.
• Familiarity with Parquet, partitioning, and schema evolution.
• Experience building internal data platforms or developer-facing infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Copilot or Cursor.
