Location: Porto, Portugal; requires working in the office 2 days per week.

Salary: €70,000–€90,000 annual Portugal hiring range

What you will do

• Lead an engineering team developing tools and products at scale.
• Conceptualize features with product managers, designers, and engineers.
• Direct technical and architectural decisions for real-time systems.
• Balance engineering and product priorities across multiple initiatives.
• Triage bugs, production issues, and on-call escalations.
• Provide performance feedback, coaching, and career development.

Requirements

• Experience leading teams building scalable tools and products.
• Expertise in web development and modern software engineering practices.
• Expertise with at least one programming language and familiarity with multiple others.
• Understanding of real-time system architecture, scalability, and availability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to attract and retain high-caliber engineers and manage multiple initiatives in parallel.
