Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, with two days per week in the office

Salary: 86,000–96,000 EUR per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Lead, grow, mentor, and coach a high-performing engineering team.
• Hire and onboard new team members and foster an innovative working environment.
• Set the team’s technical direction and take accountability for engineering decisions.
• Partner with product stakeholders to deliver the roadmap.
• Collaborate across the engineering tribe to maintain industry standards and drive cross-team improvements.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of high-performance systems for financial risk detection.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing and growing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of engineering best practices, architecture, and testing.
• Current or previous experience with a JVM-based language or Python.
• Experience with data-intensive applications and relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Expertise in designing and building microservices.
• Strong communication and writing skills, including clear technical documentation, plus experience collaborating with product and commercial teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Background in startup or scale-up environments.
