Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; on-site with four days per week in the Lisbon office

Salary: €90,000–€120,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead a team of engineers delivering complex technical projects against the product roadmap.
• Work closely with Product Management and Client Services to define scope and deliverables.
• Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and hands-on engineering work.
• Contribute to product strategy and engineering-wide initiatives, including recruitment and team processes.
• Measure team impact and develop engineers through career guidance and support.

Requirements

• At least two years of engineering management experience with product-aligned teams.
• Experience with cloud-native environments and modern technology stacks, including microservices, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS or GCP, and Go or Python.
• Technical background enabling effective technical decisions and strong communication with Product Managers and client representatives.
• Ability to work with a high level of responsibility and autonomy and adapt to the changing needs of an engineering team.
• Willingness to work four days per week onsite from the Lisbon office.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of banking or finance.
• Experience with client-facing projects, scoping, and deliverable definition.
• Experience recruiting and shaping engineering teams.
