Engineering Manager (Browser Run)

Salary: €74,000–€93,000 annual salary for Portugal-based hires

What you will do

• Manage, coach, hire, and grow the systems engineering team behind Browser Run.
• Own the Browser Run roadmap, delivery, reliability, and communication across the organization.
• Partner with Product Management to set direction, prioritize scope, and make product trade-offs.
• Own operational health, including browser fleet capacity, session reliability, cold-start latency, concurrency limits, on-call rotations, alerts, and incident follow-through.
• Maintain the automation surface across Puppeteer, Playwright, CDP behavior, and Chrome version upgrades.
• Coordinate dependencies with Workers, Developer Platform, Security, and Billing teams, while representing Browser Run in documentation, talks, launch content, and customer conversations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience managing engineering teams, combined with a strong hands-on engineering background.
• Experience owning a production service end to end, including on-call rotations, capacity planning, and incident reviews.
• Experience developing engineers and supporting promotions or the growth of team leads and first-line managers.
• Strong technical grounding in distributed systems, web platform fundamentals, or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience partnering with Product Management on roadmap definition and prioritization.
• Excellent written communication and experience hiring engineers through interview loops and candidate closing.

Nice to have

• Experience with browser automation, Chrome DevTools Protocol, Puppeteer, Playwright, or browser internals.
• Experience operating headless browser infrastructure at scale, including sandboxing and resource isolation.
• Experience shipping AI or agent-facing platform primitives such as MCP servers, tool-calling surfaces, or agent orchestration.
• Familiarity with hirify.global Workers, Durable Objects, Workflows, R2, or D1.
• Experience taking an internal tool to a billed external product or managing distributed teams across time zones.
