Engineering Manager (Backend)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of frontend and backend engineers, with a primary focus on backend development.
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable, secure, high-performance backend systems, RESTful APIs, and databases.
• Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and frontend engineers to define technical requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
• Drive code quality, code reviews, quality assurance, production monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Manage Agile priorities and delivery milestones while improving system performance and backend scalability.
• Promote mentorship, continuous learning, and best practices in database design, API development, and distributed systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of backend development experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead position.
• Expertise in Python, Java, or Go.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, RESTful API development, backend architecture, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Linux, AWS, and Docker.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
