Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US for full-time employment; employment sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $153,000–$191,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow full-stack and backend engineering teams across multiple product verticals.
• Set technical direction, shape roadmaps with Product, prioritize trade-offs, and define quarterly scope.
• Guide delivery of integrations, identity verification, account opening, SSO, enrollment, public API, funding, and ACH capabilities.
• Drive system reliability, scalability, security, test coverage, code review practices, and incident retrospectives.
• Guide architecture decisions, platform migrations, and strategic technical investigations.
• Partner with Implementation, Customer Success, Product, and other teams to resolve escalated customer issues and align execution.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong hands-on technical foundation.
• 2+ years in a technology leadership role building and leading strong teams.
• Experience with TypeScript, Node, Python, API development, event-driven systems, and relational databases such as Postgres.
• Strong system design, architecture, REST API, backend services, and microservice-style architecture experience.
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs, translate product requirements into technical plans, and align stakeholders.
• Hands-on player-coach approach with clean, documented, well-tested code and a focus on error handling, logging, edge cases, quality, and performance.
