Engineering Manager (Cloud Engineering)

Location: Permanent role based in Richmond, Melbourne, VIC, Australia, with a hybrid and flexible working approach.

What you will do

• Lead the Polaris cloud engineering squad within the Launchpad platform, delivering roadmap commitments and cloud engineering outcomes.
• Guide the development of cost-efficient and compliant cloud operations through information, guidance, and automation.
• Maintain high standards for engineering quality, operational excellence, systems health, and engineering compliance.
• Drive priorities including systems handovers, right-sizing, and broader custodianship outcomes across Launchpad.
• Grow a high-performing team through coaching, feedback, recruitment, clear expectations, and wellbeing support.
• Collaborate with product, design, architecture, and engineering stakeholders to deliver platform outcomes.

Requirements

• Experience leading and inspiring engineering teams to deliver business and platform outcomes.
• Strong technical judgment across architecture, software engineering practices, operational excellence, and systems thinking.
• Experience leading teams responsible for production systems and cloud services.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills across product, design, architecture, and engineering stakeholders.
