Director, AI Productivity & Engineering Governance

Location: NSW, Australia; hybrid arrangement with three days in the office and two days from wherever works best

What you will do

• Lead the development of AI-infused automations that perform engineering work, including agents, scripts, MCP tools, pipelines, and prompts.
• Define and scale AI-augmented engineering practices across delivery teams.
• Develop cross-domain engineering policies and standards for security telemetry, observability, engineering metrics, audit posture, and exception management.
• Lead a senior technical team across AI Efficiency and Engineering Governance.
• Manage the multi-year engineering capability strategy, investment, efficiency, and governance outcomes.

Requirements

• Senior people or principal engineer experience, or engineering management experience with deep hands-on production coding and code review.
• Day-to-day proficiency with AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Glean, or equivalents.
• Experience creating and delivering practical engineering solutions using AI development tools.
• Strong understanding of agentic workflows, MCP, timely engineering, and the limitations of current models in production environments.
• Demonstrated ability to create engineering policies and procedures that are adopted across delivery.
