Senior Buyer - Supply Chain (Medical Devices)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; on-site preferred, with hybrid applicants considered

Annual salary: $100,000–$125,000

What you will do

• Manage procurement for custom electromechanical assemblies, PCBAs, and precision-machined components.
• Lead RFQ-to-award negotiations and improve supplier pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts.
• Monitor material cost, capacity, delivery schedules, inventory, and production availability.
• Support Sales and Operations Planning, supply-and-demand balancing, and Material Requirements Planning inputs.
• Maintain ERP data integrity, including BOM accuracy and planning parameters, with SAP.
• Track supplier KPIs and scorecards, maintain purchasing records, and lead corrective actions for underperforming suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, and/or 5+ years of relevant experience or education.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems; SAP experience is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Experience managing complex supply chains and multiple products or projects simultaneously.
• Strong independent and collaborative working abilities, interpersonal skills, communication skills, and sense of urgency.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced startup environment and primarily on-site in San Mateo, with hybrid work also considered.

Nice to have

• Experience in the medical device or robotics industry.
• Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 supplier-control requirements.
• Experience with finance, budget management, or spend management.
