Senior Buyer (Supply Chain)

Location: Liverpool, New York, United States; onsite, full-time

Salary: $75,000–$100,000 per year

What you will do

• Review MRP requirements, exception messages, material shortages, safety stock, inventory levels, and stocking quantities.
• Create requisitions and purchase orders, confirm vendor dates, and maintain lead times, pricing, and material master data in SAP.
• Identify suppliers and secondary sources, manage approved vendor lists, and support material cutovers and revisions.
• Negotiate supplier costs, terms, contracts, shipping, expedites, and other purchasing conditions.
• Manage supplier relationships, scorecards, business reviews, forecasts, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, planning, quality, sourcing, and manufacturing on drawings, FAI activities, projects, shortages, and production requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of supply chain experience, including buying, in a manufacturing organization using an ERP/MRP environment.
• Experience with both strategic and tactical procurement.
• Knowledge of cost analytics, contracts, negotiations, and terms and conditions.
• SAP experience and strong computer skills.
• High initiative, attention to detail, follow-up, and interpersonal skills in a multitasking environment.
• A BS degree is preferred, particularly in a technical or supply chain discipline.
