Senior Buyer (Manufacturing)

Location: Fremont, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year. The stated starting base salary is $100,000–$120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end procurement for assigned commodities, including sourcing strategy, supplier selection, negotiations, and execution.
• Lead supplier, contract, and commercial negotiations covering cost, lead time, quality, risk, NDAs, GTCs, SOWs, and production supply agreements.
• Drive cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives with Engineering and Operations.
• Manage contract manufacturing relationships, supplier scorecards, corrective actions, performance reviews, and build-readiness meetings.
• Ensure material availability for production while optimizing inventory investment and maintaining purchasing data in ERP/MRP systems.
• Support make-or-buy decisions, NPI sourcing, ECO management, delivery and invoice discrepancy resolution, and supply-chain process improvements.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of procurement or buying experience in manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading supplier negotiations and managing strategic suppliers.
• Strong understanding of supply-chain risk, inventory economics, and cost structures.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Excel, including analysis and scenario modeling.
• Ability to work autonomously, make decisions with incomplete information, and manage stakeholders effectively.
• Ability to work on-site in Fremont, California, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-mix, low-volume, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• APICS, CPSM, or equivalent certification.
• Experience supporting NPI or rapid-scale production.
